Looking Forward

As of 1 April 2017, Teage Ezard will step down from managing BLACK Bar & Grill at The Star Sydney.

The restaurant will continue to operate with the existing team under the leadership of the current executive chef, Dany Karam, who has been at the helm since 2015.

With the support of The Star, Teage and the team have worked hard to establish a name for BLACK in the competitive Sydney dining scene, which has seen BLACK go on to become one of the standout culinary attractions of both Sydney and The Star.

Teage has had an overwhelmingly positive experience working alongside Dany and the team at Star, and wishes to acknowledge them as being integral to the acclaim and success that BLACK has achieved. 

The restaurant was founded by Teage in 2011 and went on to win many awards. Since then, Executive Chef Dany Karam has worked closely with Teage to develop the venue into a classically inspired, contemporary Australian grill with an emphasis on superior ingredients and expert craftsmanship. Dany will lead the Black Bar & Grill team as it continues its prominence on the Sydney dining scene.    

The present and future of BLACK/ The Star is extremely bright, with recent standouts including an incredibly well-received Jack's Creek World's Best Steak dinner and partnership, the perennially popular Champagne Weekends, a fun and flirty Gingergirl pop-up, and the exciting addition of a new luxury hotel tower to The Star.
